Tiny Tailgaters - Ducks vs Beavers Limited Edition

November 16 & 17
Tiny Tailgaters
A Celebration of the Civil War
The Ducks vs. the Beavers

We'll have a tailgater set for each team. Everything you'd need for that party in the parking lot. The cooler, the chair, the flag, the umbrella, even a barbecue. We even have team footballs suitable for little hands. The only thing missing will be the smell of the hamburgers cooking on the grill - oh, and the (root) beer.

Dress your little Beaver Believer or Duck Booster in their finest team colors, and we'll create something really special.

Call the studio now at 503-588-0902 to schedule your session time.

Session fees for this event will be all donated to Dornbecher Children's Hospital in honor of Amanda Jordahl. (Learn why in the seperate post about Amanda and her inspiring story)

Who will win OUR version of the Civil War? Will the Ducks donate the most, or will the Beavers. Which group of fans has the most team spirit?

"Born To Be Wild" - Coming September 22nd

A special
Limited Edition Portrait Event
for children

For years, we've been photographing seniors in the wonderful old alley behind our studio. It's a great place, with so many different settings that we can use. It's rustic, it's funky, it's old, and it works GREAT for portraits.

Earlier this year, I had the chance to photograph Owen, my daughter Chelsie's boyfriend's 4 year old in this same alley - we wanted something with his new bomber jacket - and we LOVED the way the portraits looked.

And that became the beginnings of an idea.

Wouldn't it be great if we photographed our client's children there as well.

I'll bet they'd love the look as much as we did with Owen.

But we wanted to make this very special,
not just something we could do any day of the week. The funky old alley, the leather and blue jeans look - hey, what if we added a Harley to the mix, and created something REALLY cool!!!

So that's exactly what we've done. Born To Be Wild - the first of our monthly Limited Edition portrait sessions for children was born.

We arranged for the Harley (it's FANTASTIC), we bought authentic Harley Davidson motorcycle jackets in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8/10. (You can't even imagine how cute these jackets are in these little sizes!!!!!)

Dress your little guy in his blue jeans and wife beater or biker t-shirt; your little princess in something similar OR in a pretty dress (as you see above). Add the jackets; add some sunglasses, and maybe even a doo-rag, and you've got the makings of a wonderful portrait that you'll treasure forever.

Especially given that these little critters have a habit of growing up SO FAST. (How did mine get to be 30 and 25 already - yesterday, they were my little girls!!!)

You can choose to use the Harley, like Dylan and Matthew, or simply the alley settings, as you see with Cailin in the photographs above. Either way, you'll end up with a timeless treasure that you'll hang in your home with pride for years to come.

And of course, the great thing about these portraits is that they'll get more valuable as time goes along, and your little one isn't so little any more.

Don't miss out on this one-time opportunity. Call the studio TODAY at 503-588-0902 and schedule your 30 minute session on the 22nd. Don't delay, because the times with all the best light will be the first ones to go.

We only have the Harley for one day, which is why these are called Limited Editions.

This is the first of a new series of monthly special events we're planning. Each month, we'll have a new Limited Edition opportunity. Our daughter Chelsie, who's also a headstart teacher at Morningside Elementary, and has a wonderful way with children, is putting together the details of many more.

Among the ideas she's working on for the future are:

  • "Field of Dreams" - special antique baseball uniforms and equipment

  • "Fairies" - pretty fairie skirts and wings on a beautful set in the studio

  • "Barnstorming Babes" - Bomber Jackets, Goggles and a scarf flying in the wind.(If anyone knows of an older airplane and hanger we can make arrangments to use, let us know)

  • "Down on the Farm" - We're looking for an old barn to use for this event.

  • "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" - when the tulips are in bloom in Bush Park.

  • "In Rabbit's Garden"

  • "Night-Night Time" - old fashioned victorian nightgowns and nightshirts, a comfy couch, stuffed animals all in front of the fireplace

  • "Dickens Delights" - Costumes right out of "A Christmas Carol on a wintertime set"

  • "Little Leprechauns" -A St. Patricks day theme in conjunction with Bridie's Irish Shoppe

  • "Singin' in the Rain" - Rubber Boots and mud puddles - need we say more?

  • "Little Diva's" - Little Diva skirts and funky shoes - your own little rock star

These are all in the works. We'll be announcing details as we complete and schedule them.

But Coming In October

Tiny Tailgaters

A Ducks vs. Beavers

Limited Edition

(We're Planning on donating the session fees to Make-A-Wish, but we're waiting for their approval before this will be official. They have some pretty stringent requirements, and we may not be able to meet them, so if not them, we'll pick another worthy charity)

What's more fun in the state of Oregon than Civil War time. We'll have an entire tailgate set for the Ducks and one for the Beavers (still trying to figure out how to get the back end of the pickup into the studio!). Everything you'd have if you were celebrating before the big game. The flag, the coolers, the chairs, the barbecue, the umbrellas, even the football (and maybe genuine helmets).

All you have to add is your little Duck fan or Beaver Believer in all their school regalia, and we'll create something very special.

Session fees from this event will all be donated to Make A Wish foundation, (assuming we get their approval to use their name with this event), in honor of Amanda Jordahl, one of our seniors this year who is a cancer survivor and softball fanatic. The year she was going through chemo, Make-a-Wish sent her to Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees play.

This young lady is such an inspiration that we wanted to do something special for those that did something special for her. So this will be a COMPETITION - let's see who's donation is bigger; the Ducks or the Beavers fans.

More details shortly.

If you'd like to be added to our mailing list for these Limited Edition events, please contact the studio at 503-588-0902, or info@encorephotography.com, and we'll make sure you get all the information as we get them scheduled.
